For ten years FEMALE has been advocating for and promoting feminist values and gender equality, and we are not stopping now.
We are celebrating a decade of action, by hosting a two-day NATIONWIDE FEMINIST FESTIVAL on 23 and 24 June 2023 at Beirut Hippodrome.
The festival is free and inclusive for all ages and all individuals, and will feature inspiring talks by trailblazers, plus discussions, arts, knowledge sharing, inspirational talks, networking, uplifting music, DJs, and child-friendly activities and vendors selling feminist-themed products throughout the day and night.
Our festival is dedicated to creating a platform for all women to be seen, heard, and celebrated. We aim to inspire attendees to embrace their identities and empower them to break down gender-based barriers - and welcome in another decade of LOUD PROUD FEMINIST action!.

Our Executive Director officially opens the FEMALE 10th Anniversary nationwide feminist festival!

Hayat will take us on a tour through FEMALE’s ten year history and set the scene for the next decade of LOUD PROUD FEMINIST activism.

The next feminist generation takes center stage in this session, moderated by Myriam Sfeir, Director of the Arab Institute at the Lebanese American University. Following a keynote speech by Rana El Houjeiri, Malala Fund’s Country Representative and MENA Regional Advisor

we will hear girls’ first-hand stories, understand the experiences of young groups mainly girls and women led in organizing and promoting girls’ access to rights, especially the right to education, and hear their recommendations to ensure movement impact and sustainability . Forging her own route from media personality to Member of Parliament, Paula has taken the non-traditional path.

Hear her views on the dire issues that Lebanese women face, and her own professional journey to becoming the first female independent MP in the region.

She’s smart, she’s funny - she’s here! Yara Bou Monsef’s hilarious online videos have reached millions of viewers and made us all laugh at how absurd life can be (especially in Lebanon).
