FEMALE’s Response to UN Women Latest Inflammatory and Baseless Statement

After witnessing fabricated media coverage of the events that occurred on Oct 7th and thereafter, perpetuation of distorted narratives, and following the unspeakable atrocities committed against the people of Palestine—an enduring genocide that shocked the world’s conscience—global solidarity surged in support. In contrast and after 50+ days of Israeli aggression and violence, 13,300 lives lost, two-thirds of them innocent women and children; the world expected justice, or at the very least a permanent ceasefire, and instead UN Women chose to justify the aggression and be complicit in genocide.

In a shocking display of hypocrisy, UN Women not only denies Palestinians the right to resist 75 years of apartheid imposed by a fascist colonizer but also chose to justify the murder of thousands of civilians in their latest inflammatory and baseless statement. UN Women is not merely indifferent; they are complicit in the dehumanization of our people and thus the genocide. Today, we, at FEMALE, declare our vehement refusal to accept any partnership or funding stained by the double standards of this “global human rights” body, and as such announce our withdrawal from the ‘Feminist Platform’ coordinated and supported by UN Women. We stand united against the brutality perpetuated by UN Women and other organizations and governments who have failed humanity with their shameful stance on the catastrophic massacres and destruction happening in Gaza. Our commitment to justice, equality, and the relentless fight against oppression, colonization and occupation remains unwavering.
